(More customer reviews)I was replacing a 3 year old "as seen on TV" wireless FM based headset. These 900mhz state of the art headphones didn't even come close.
Here are the problems:
Headphones picked up a local TV station even with the base turned of. Very poor performance when used plugged into my TV's RCA type audio jacks. (why I bought them). Hissy and staticy walking around inside house (even close up). Tech support rep very condescending.
I am certain it was the model and not my TV or house or locality. I went out and purchased the Advent AW720 and have none of the above problems.
I would have liked to read this before I purchased.
On the good side, Amazon is making the return very very painless. Thanks Amazon!

(More customer reviews)The headphones alone are excellent--they have great frequency response and presence. I am not a technical type but I do own Etymotic ER-4's and these sound better to me.
These use flexible ear pieces like all other earphones in this category. They eliminate a lot of ambient sound but may take some getting used to if you have not used this type before. They come with several size ear pieces and I suspect most everyone will find a size they are comfortable with.
The wireless transmitter and receiver works well and allows me to use my I-pod without a dangling wire. The earphones can be used as a normal wired type or the wire can be removed and used with the wireless transmitter and receiver--the headphones sound exactly the same to me, either way. This is surprising, as normally wireless introduces sound quality erosion.
I do get some occasional very short dropouts in sound in the wireless mode if I have my I-pod in my pants pockets but have had no problem if I keep it in a top pocket. Line of site presents no problem--I have used at 30 feet with wall in the way from my stereo receiver and my PC. These are superior to other wireless products I have used that can not compete in terms of range.
The wireless receiver can hang in front or over the back of your head. It is a little large and a bit clumsy if you like it hanging in the front--so I have become a back of head hanger.
The on/off switches on the receiver/transmitter are a little small and you need to be careful not to hide the light when you turning them on and off.
I have not run out of charge after using 8 hours--I have seen other reviews that indicate you can expect 8-10 hours.
These headphones sound as good to me as my Etymotic at close to the same price--this wireless option makes these my first choice.

(More customer reviews)The previous reviewer reviewed the Opera version of the Kleer technology -- a different product. So that review does not apply to the Sleek W-1. I have used the Sleek W-1 for several years. In fact, I have purchased four over time and adapted them for use with my UE10 and 11 in-ear custom monitors and iPod Classic. I use them constantly when I travel, usually on airplanes, and the battery reliability and duration is fantastic. One one flight to France I cycled through nearly all of Beethoven's 16 string quartets before the battery died -- that was about 7-8 hours of constant listening. The Sleek/Kleer wireless technology puts Bluetooth to shame in terms of sound quality -- with lossless sound files on my iPod Classic it's equivalent to listening to a CD. After using the W-1s I would never touch Bluetooth again.
The Sleek/Kleer wireless technology has very good range. On an airplane, I can put my iPod in the seat back pocket and roam as far as 20 or 30 feet before the sound starts to break up. Same at the gym or at home.
With the passive sound deadening quality of my UE in ear custom monitors, the W-1 is a dream on airplanes. During take-off the engine noise is almost completely silenced (far, far better in sound canceling than any of the very expensive and over-rated Bose sound-cancelling headphones).
I highly recommend the W-1 to anyone who want the very best in high-qaulity wireless music. Coupled with high-quality head phone or in-ear monitors, you can't do better.

(More customer reviews)I just received my headphones and used them for a trip to Disneyland. They are awesome and my kids loved them!! I disagree with the comment about the OEM headphones. Our headphones that came with the car are not as comfortable for the kids and it is coming apart. The Kidz Gear headphones are great cause they have a softer lining around the ears that probably won't come apart like the cheap foam things that are around the headphones we have now.
The sound quality was very good. I tried them out myself. I like how they fit, even for an adult. They are very comfortable and sleek looking. My kids would fight over who got to wear the Kidz Gear headphones over the ones that came in the car.
The customer service at Kidz Gear is also very good. I had a question for them on how to use the headphones at home with our TV. They were so helpful and explained things in a way that a non-tech person could understand. It is hard to find great customer service these days and I was very impressed with them. They were awesome!
I would highly recommend these headphones to kids and adults to use. They are so comfortable and I like how they turn themselves off after a while to keep the battery life. Our headphones that came with the car doesn't have this feature. You don't even know how many times we've not had headphones to use cause the battery has run out.
I WOULD RATE THIS PRODUCT 5 STARS!

The KLEER technology they use results in audiphile grade sound without any of the noise or interference I have had with previous wireless units. I have used them constantly for television and critical listening to music (I'm a musician) for over a month and the batteries in the phones are still holding up. The batteries in the small transmitter gave way after a week but it was easy to set up the supplied wall wart power. They are especially great for late night TV and listening to music in my condo without disturbing the neighbors. Reception is great even upstairs. The phones design is very comfortable and they are well made. The only disappointment was the lag in transmission made them unusable for playing my guitar. For everything else you don't really notice it. Highly recommended and worth the price!

The 50' to 70' range lets me stop for breaks away from the TV without missing anything. The set is always charged. It took only a minute to connect and plug in. I did have to play around with the exact position on my head for max comfort, but I found it quickly. I love this product. Wish I'd found it sooner. As always, Amazon had the price, fast shipping and the best return policy out there.

(More customer reviews)I bought this headset to replace a radio shack wireless headset where the batteries were failing. I like the Sennheiser for its quality, the fact that it sounds great and for the fact that it uses AAA rechargeables (comes with it) that will hold a charge for more than 24 hrs of use, and they are easily replaceable when that time comes. The sound quality is excellent... good bass and the highs are clear. I use these primarily in bed so as not to disturb the wife while watching TV... I am one of those who needs the noise in order to sleep, so the headphones are on all night albeit at low volume. I have found that they are cool and comfortable to wear. I wake up without the red ears I used to get with the others. If there is a complaint it would be that they fit on the ear and as such feels loose on the head, so when I do use them while moving about they slip. The old set was around the ear, so was more secure, but after a couple of hours were intolerable to wear... tradeoffs. Oh, one other thing I discovered that I really like is that the ear cushions are easily removable and can be cleaned with a mild detergent, dried and snapped right back on. So, bottom line, I am very satisfied with these and recommend them to other night owls or those who need to wear them for long periods.

I have not used them for pure audio. I have high end audio equipment and prefer the imaging that speakers provide. Headsets don't produce the sound stage well.

TV Ears 10041 Original System (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)Television shows (especially older ones), too often aren't captioned. This is also true with current DVD releases, even from the big studios: no captions or subtitles. There's a law that requires closed captioning on newly released media, but studios sometimes ignore it. As I'm hearing impaired and rely heavily on closed captioning, this is particularly frustrating.
I have tried several headsets over the years with varying degrees of success. What's unfortunate is that most headsets aren't designed for the hearing impaired. They're designed for people who want to listen to music as they roam around the house. This means that the headsets aren't optimized for voice enhancement, and instead deliver quite a bit of bass. Bass tones don't improve speech comprehension, they lessen it.
That's where TV Ears comes in. Yes, the name is a bit silly, but this headset really works. The first time I used them I had the silliest smile on my face, because for the very first time I understood what was being said *perfectly*. English accents - long a bane of my TV experience, especially as I love British humor - were no longer a problem. The sound quality is magnificent, and the speech enhancement that the product brags about is spot-on. You can adjust the tone of the sound being delivered to your ears, so you can get just the right amount of bass/treble to give you, essentially, a custom-fit headset.
There's an added bonus.
TV Ears says that most theaters use the same technology that they do. I wasn't sure I believed that, so continued to use the (most often) old and sometimes dysfunctional headsets that theaters provide that don't allow for adjusting the tone to improve speech comprehension. Fed up with watching theater employees throw headsets into bins, and at least a 50/50 shot that when the movie started I was going to have to go back and exchange the headset, I tried my TV Ears in the theater. They worked. Instead of simply "booming" the sound, it was just like at home: The headsets enhanced what was being said. Whenever I go to the movies, I "never leave home without" them. They're more reliable than American Express.

(More customer reviews)I had this 970RK for 2-3 years and never have the problems as many complained in the 1-star group - noisy, poor sound quality, short battery life, etc. Each is just opposit to me in a positive way.
I have been using it in a single family house (vs. apartment building) and I always connect it to the LINE OUT of a TV, not the earphone jack, so that I can just mute the TV while listening to the headphone.
It works so well for me that I am going to buy a 2nd set of the same thing so that I can always have a one fully charged waiting there when the another I am using runs out of battery (That is why I am here today).
Hope this helps to tell why the reviewers are so wide spliting here - they may use it in different ways or locations.

(More customer reviews)After researching Sony, RCA, and Sennheiser wireless headphones I settled on the Sennheiser RS-120's and I have no regrets. These are excellent headphones. I ended up buying them at GoogGuys. When I asked the associate if I could try them he connected them to a DVD player and they came to life. I walked all the way accross the store filled with electronics and heard no interference what-so-ever. I was nothing short of impressed and bought them right then and there.
Now that I have been using them for several weeks I am still amazed by them. I didn't know wireless headphones could be this good. There is no interference around my house. The 300ft range claim is about right. Maybe a bit conservative. I can mow my rental house lawn accross the street and even go next door and still get a good signal.
Sound quality is excellent. Bass is strong, mids are prominent, and highs are crisp. These phones work great for music, TV, and movies. I couldn't be happier with the sound. There is some spotty static in a couple places upstairs but it is practically inaudible when listening to something.
I don't know how long the batteries last because they have never run out. I have worn them for almost 10 hours straight and they were still going strong. I put them on the charger after each use and they have never shown any signs of a low battery.
That brings me to the charging system. It is simply superb. Unlike most other wireless phone charging systems this one is very simple. Just set the headphones on the metal "tube" that sticks out of the base and it charges. No messing around to get them just right so the contacts will contact (AKA Sony).
Build quality is very good. They are light weight, yet sturdy. The RS-120's are much sturdier than any of the other Sennheiser RS phones. They are very comfortable as well. I was worried that, due to their open air, on the ear design that they would get uncomfortable after wearing them for a few hours. I was proven wrong. They have never become uncomfortable.
I have read some reviews where people complain that the base turns off whenever it wants. It has an auto-off features so that it shuts off if it gets not signal for a few minutes. I see no problem with that and it has never bothered me since I'm usually listening to something when I'm wearing them. :)
I have the base connected to my home theater receiver to which I have a TV, DVD player, and my PC connected. The phones work well with all of those sources. Games, music, movies, TV, everything sounds great and I recommend these phones whole heartedly. You would be hard pressed to find a better deal in this price range.
