(More customer reviews)I bought this transmitter receiver to watch cable in a room with no line access. I placed the receiver about 15 feet away from the cable box and transmitter, and it still did not work. The best reception I got was by holding the receiver above my head as close to the door as possible - not practical for everyday use. In addition, answering the phone caused more static, a "flipping" screen, and crackling sound. Basically, if you do not have a wireless network or a cordless phone, and have direct line of sight between the units, this unit will probably work for you. I don't know anyone that falls in this category...

(More customer reviews)Box says 300ft range (clear line of site), penetrates floors and ceilings. OK, clearly I don't expect a 300ft range through floors and ceilings. However, for my use (trying to transmit a signal from one room to another, about 75ft, through 2 walls and a floor) this was totally useless. I FINALLY got it to connect, and play audio without unbearable static: by placing the transmitter and receiver directly across from eachother on opposite sides of a wall. It would not work if I asked it to transmit (only about 10ft) through the wall at an angle; it had to be perpendicular to the wall. Endless fiddling with antenna orientations couldn't give me a workable solution. When I opened the box, I was really happy: it included an infared link, and the receiver transcodes the composite video input into a coax signal that an old TV might use (has composite output too). That's all great- but are useless features if the signal can't reach the receiver. Going to see if I can return it for a refund :-(

Great reception if I turned off my 2.4GHz wireless network router and did not talk on my 2.4GHz cordless phone. With the router on, I got a strobing horizontal line down the screen. With the cordless phone, pressing the Talk button to use the phone killed the signal. I returned the product to the store.
If you don't have other 2.4GHz devices it seems like it will work well for you.

Wireless Audio/Video Sender/Receiver System Review

(More customer reviews)Okay, bear with me as I unpack the product - first, two sets of RCA cables for stereo audio and composite video, the receiver, the transmitter, a tiny instruction manual, and ... a power supply? No. Just one cable that plugs into the DC input of one of the two units with two exposed wires on the other end that I can, well... solder to a 12V power supply I have lying around somewhere?!
It may not be apparent from the product description, but this unit does not come with its own power supply! It's up to you to provide 12V to each of the two boxes. How many Ampere? How would I know! The instruction manual just says to hook up "any 10-15V power supply".
Well, if you have a couple of general-purpose power supplies in your garage, you can try the product itself. And you'll regret that. The sound quality is a joke, you'll essentially just hear static. I tried putting the two units next to each other with the antennas effectively touching each other, and it was still just noise with a bit of sound. At some point - after choosing the right channel, and when aligning the antennas with the moon, you will hear something, but the quality is still horrific, with a tiny frequency range that makes it sound like you're transmitting the music through a phone connection.
Most of the wireless devices in the area where I tired it ran at a different band, so I can't blame interference. It seems like the device is just bad, plain and simple. There's nothing good I could say about the little details on the side either: There are no LEDs or anything, so you can't tell whether the sender is turned off or if it just sucks. The units themselves are relatively small, if a bit ugly.
All in all, the power supply situation alone is beyond belief. This unit is supposed to be used inside buildings, where you typically don't have exposed 12V cables that you can hook your gadgets to. I could understand it if this unit was designed to be used in a car, but anything that sees its primary application inside buildings needs to come with proper 110V power supplies. But even if it did, the quality is absolutely unacceptable and makes it impossible to recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item after having tried the Terk LF30S wireless system, which my 2.4Ghz cordless phone interferred with. Aside from the problems my phone caused with the wireless system, I feel that the wirless LF30S Wavemaster 30 delivered a slightly better picture. That's not to say that this item doesn't (well, read on), but I feel that it is slightly less sharp.
I first hooked up the LF10S to my phone jacks as the instructions say. However, the picture was fuzzy and the sound had static in it. Although I consider the phone wiring in my home to be in good shape, I guessed that there was just too much of it running all over the house, thus degrading the signal from the LF10S. Not being one to give up, and also being one that is relatively handy, I decided to run a dedicated phone wire from my living room to the bedroom, where I wanted the receiver to be. Aprox. $15 (100 ft. of phone wire & two surface-mount jacks) and an hour later, I had my dedicated phone line installed and tried it out. Much better!! I heard absolutely no static, and the picture was very clear. Although I previously stated that the LF30S wireless picture was sharper, that is not to say that the LF10S picture is not clear. I think most people probably wouldn't even notice the difference.
If you don't use any wireless devices that use the 2.4Ghz frequency (cordless phones or wireless networking devices), I would recommend the wireless LF30S Wavemaster 30. If you can't go wireless, then I would recommend this product on the basis of its video and audio quality, but be prepared to be slightly disappointed with the results from using your regular phone jacks. If you have a basement with an "open" ceiling like me (or even a crawl space), running a dedicated phone line would be easy to do, and would make a huge difference, especially if you do have poor picture and sound from your regular phone jacks. Even if you can't get underneath your floor or behind walls, you could even run a phone wire along the baseboard to the other room.

(More customer reviews)This product works great...when it works. The problem is since this is on the bleeding edge of technology it has a number of glitches. The largest problem you are going to run into has nothing to do with signal interference, but rather signal compatibility. I hooked up an Xbox360, Cable Box, PS3, and DVD player/sound system and sent the video signal to my projector and used the Toslink out for the sound which went to my DVD player/sound system. For the Xbox360 I could get video to get sent to my projector, but the sound wouldn't transmit to my sound system. For my PS3, which is made by the same company, I could get sound just fine, but no video. The only thing that worked properly is playing a DVD, but that was because the sound was localized to the system already otherwise I'm sure I would have gotten video only out of it. Bottom line, for video games and tv there was no lag, no contouring, and no pixilation. I ended up returning this product and opting for a hard wire run and just putting cable covers on to hide the cords. My advice, wait for the second generation of this product, and if you are going to buy make sure there is a good return policy...that's why I bought it on Amazon.

(More customer reviews)The PCTVsender works as promised. It takes whatever is displayed on your computer screen and wirelessly broadcasts the video (and also the audio) to your TV set.
Now we can play movies over the Internet on the computer in the office, and watch them in the comfort of the living room on the TV. As we have it set up, the signal travels about 15 feet, passing through one wall in our home, and the display quality is fine, although there is a visible and audible "blip" on the TV when a person walks through the signal, which is a small drawback.
The product consists of two small boxes: a transmitter which plugs into your computer, and a receiver which plugs into your TV. The receiver is about the size of a deck of cards, and the transmitter is a little bigger. You screw a small included antenna into each box. Each box needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet with the included adapters.
The product also includes several different wires which must be correctly connected between your computer and the transmitter, and between the receiver and your TV. It is not difficult if you are familiar with hooking up computers, stereos, DVD players, etc. If you are not experienced and comfortable with those tasks, be sure to allow plenty of time and a distraction-free environment to hook up the PCTVsender, and possibly enlist the help of a tech-savvy friend.
To connect your computer to the transmitter, you use the VGA port on your computer. A VGA port has 15 pins (3 rows, 5 pins each row). To connect the receiver to your TV, you use the RCA jacks (red, white, yellow) on your TV. If your computer doesn't have a VGA port, or your TV doesn't have RCA jacks, you won't be able to use this product unless you purchase a separate converter that will allow you to use whatever type of connections you do have (try svideo.com).
The user's manual instructs you to connect your PC monitor cable to the transmitter, but if you have a laptop this step is not necessary. If you have a laptop, just connect the included cord from your laptop's VGA port to the VGA IN input port on the transmitter.
The transmitter also has RCA input jacks (red, white, yellow). So an alternative possible use of the PCTVsender is connecting it to a DVD player or other device that has RCA output jacks. Then you could have your DVD player in one area, and wirelessly broadcast to your TV in another area.
I have some small complaints with this product. The first, as previously mentioned, is that there is interference when someone walks through the signal.
The next complaint is that the picture of the computer screen is cut off all around on the TV screen, and it doesn't seem possible to correct this. There are vertical and horizontal controls on the device, but they just move the picture up and down or from side to side, not make the picture smaller so the whole thing will fit.
For some reason, when viewing a Netflix movie or YouTube video in full screen mode, the picture appears correctly without being cut off. This is great for me, since watching movies is my primary use of the product. But if you want to do something else with the computer and have it show up on the TV screen, it could be a problem that part of it is cut off.
Another complaint is that all the controls that affect the way the picture displays on the TV screen (horizontal/vertical controls, and some other things) are controlled from the transmitter, which is connected to the computer. This seems like a design flaw, because you are going to want to look at the TV screen while you make those adjustments. If you have the computer in one room and the TV in another room, you either have to walk back and forth after you make each little adjustment to see its effect, or you have to have two people and the one looking at the TV yells "a little to the left... a little to the right..." It would make much more sense to have the controls on the receiver instead!
Another drawback, which is not something "wrong" with this product but just the limitations of it, is that when you're watching the broadcast on the TV you can't pause it or switch to a new movie from there. You have to do that on the computer, so if your computer is in another room that is a hassle. There are other (much more expensive!) products such as Internet-ready TV sets which let you select and control Internet content directly from the TV. The PCTVsender is a lot more basic, and it is a good solution if you just want to watch and listen to your computer through your TV set.

And when the phone is not connected it has a very subtle interference that I cannot identify. And depending on the orientation of the bases It can get worst or better. (There is a distance of 10 metres and some walls between the two bases). Anyway I could get them positioned to get good signal (but it was difficult)

I used this device from 15 ft to about 75 feet away and the sound remained the same even through a wall. I also was able to play sound from my study to my neighbors stereo approx. 150 ft away through concrete. The sound was not degraded. However, when I say the sound was not degraded that does not mean it was "normal". Due to the wireless technology the product sounds like you are listening to the radio. If you happen to get the perfect setting going though this is hardly noticable and you will enjoy it for a long time. It is the only one of it's kind (from what I have found) and beats buying a bulky stereo component for around $... or more. This product is a perfect buy and gets 4 stars only because of its lack of a power switch and fragile-thin RCA cables. Email me for more info.

LEAPFROG LF30S Wavemaster 30 2.4 GHz A/V Distribution System with Remote Control Extender Review

(More customer reviews)First off, the actual item looks just like the one without the remote extender not the one pictured. I installed the Remote TV in my kitchen which is next to my living room. I can see the kitchen from the living room, but I can't see the Living Room TV from the kitchen, hence the extender.
Pros: Works pretty well, video and audio are in sync and with the right cables, you can still use your regular TV to watch the same show as what's on the remote TV. The picture quality is quite good, although i'm only using a 20" TV. The IR extender works pretty flawlessly in remote location. Once you realize the antennas are directional and you aim them at each other it works great.
Cons: If you walk through the directional antenna signal, picture drops out, which is why the manual says to mount them as high as possible to avoid interruption. In my situation, I can see the IR repeater from my living room and thus when I try to change channels by aiming at the TV, it doesn't work because it gets my signal, then it gets the repeated signal and it must distort both the signals. Also, I've noticed that on one of the four channels, my Internet Wireless g network is completely undetectable if I'm too close to the repeaters. My solution was to turn off the repeaters when I'm not using them to save power and let my remotes and wireless network work.
Overall: the product has some flaws in my specific application, but over the long run, I think it will prove it's convenience as a worthwhile investment.

I read the reviews about these units not working after a few weeks, but mine has been working almost every day since Christmas 2008. I turn transmitter and receiver off after every use. Good Luck!

I bought this product and it worked great... as advertised... I loved it. Audio, video, IR (remote) worked and were clear. One morning, about 45 days after I bought it, it just stopped working. Assuming the problem was environmental, I had the unit extensively tested by an A/V pro. It was clearly the unit. So I contacted the manufacturer and sent it back. I had high hopes that I just got a lemon, and the next unit would be fine.
The second unit failed within two days (different type of failures). Again I had it checked out, and had the setup and placement checked thoroughly - I mean, what are the odds that two units would fail? Once again, defective equipment, and once again I sent it back.
Third unit lasted a couple of weeks - then failed.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I have extensive A/V experience and love the idea of this product. Don't buy a product that will fail in a couple of days or months. Find another solution.

(More customer reviews)So I came across this after checking out the Imation Link wireless, so glad I did not order the Imation one. Brite-view is not only cheaper, it also stream 1080p where as the Imation Link only stream 720p and cost more than Brite-view. I also see that HP makes the same product, also more expensive and the thing is HUGE compare to this. Extremely easy setup. NO LAG whatsoever!!!!! Seriously if you want to stream 1080p video from your laptop to TV you have to get this. One negative is you must have HDMI on your laptop or else it won't work. But Brite-view does make another product without HDMI.

I set it up as per the directions and at first I thought it was working, it transmitted the cable signal from one room to about twenty feet into the kitchen. But, the ability to change the channel via the "IR mouse" and remote just didn't work. Period. So, I switched the cable set up to feed the "raw" cable signal into the splitter so the transmitter got 25 channels. I was able to change channels and this would have been acceptable had it continued to function this way. But, now once the unit had been running a few minutes, the remote no could no longer function. At first I thought maybe it was a dead battery and so I replaced it but, once again, the remote stopped working. At this point, turned it off and re-read the instructions and went over the wiring setup. This was about 15 minutes after which I turned the units back on and it appeared to be functioning. I watched a little of the golf match and when a commercial came on, I tried to change the channel and nothing. Not one button the remote functioned. So, at this point I've decided to send the units back and try my luck with the manufacture.

(More customer reviews)I just received the Air SynchHD yesterday so my experience is somewhat limited, but so far it is working great. I bought this to use to watch TV out by the pool on game day and to eliminate the long HDMI cable that I had been dragging back and forth each weekend and hanging out a window. So far I have tested it outside and the picture is as clear as it was when the HDTV was connected by HDMI directly to the cable box. My setup outside is definitely pushing the limits of the 33 foot NLOS so it took some time to find a placement of the receiver that would allow it to connect to the transmitter. But once connected, I let it run for about four hours and never lost the signal. While I bought this for game day outside I found that I can also use it during the weekdays when we are not outside to eliminate a second cable box in our exercise room. That setup puts the receiver about 20 feet from the transmitter and works perfectly as well. We are going to end up saving over $17 a month on our cable bill by eliminating two cable boxes (the one we had designated for outside and the one in the exercise room).
One possible option to consider: The Air SynchHD only has one HDMI-in port but I have hooked it up with a IO Gear HDMI smart switch and can use it with our cable box, PS3 and Blu-Ray player. The smart switch just sends the signal for whichever one is on to the transmitter. So, we can do movies, watch cable or play games outside (or in our exercise room). I definitely recommend this setup for anyone who wants to be able to use more than one HD device with the transmitter. It is much easier than disconnecting and reconnecting cables every time you want to switch from cable box to blu-ray, etc.. Oh, and the HDMI output feature is great as well to allow you to use this device with a cable box that is also connected to another HDTV. I run the output HDMI cable to our Onkyo receiver. The receiver has a multi-room feature that feeds our outdoor speakers so we can watch HDTV in full stereo sound outside.
If I experience any problems after further use I will update this review. But, I have to admit that so far this product has worked great.

(More customer reviews)Quite disappointed with the performance for it has a very serious frequency interference problems. No matter what channel I selected by flipping the correspondent dip switch on the products as described in the typo-flushed user manual, it always picks up the frequency from the microwave oven and the Internet wireless router, and distorts and scrambles the screen display badly. I even tried to setup the transmitter and the receiver in a way such that the distance between the two is only 10 ft away, but the situation still does not improve a bit. I think you would love this product only if you shut of all the microwave oven, wireless router and any devices that emits 2.4GHz wave.
