When I gradually increased the volume on the headset, each of them smiled and said they could hear it well. It's pretty simple to set up: Plug in the box to an outlet. Connect to the TV with the audio cable to audio out. Turn on headset. Advantage of having two complete units instead of one complete and one headset is that the second one can be used as a charger closer to where the users sit. I think the professional model would only be necessary if you were dealing with big distances--this works great 20 feet from the TV.
